Some of the team at Unique Mobility took a visit to the Help for Heroes Plymouth recovery centre. The H4H team is based in the HM Naval base and host 'Veterans Friday's'. A day in which ex-servicemen and women can find support for issues relating to service, they can find advice on pensions and compensation as well as find therapy for injuries and so on...
The Recovery centre is based in the Devonport naval base and is home to 'Recovery in the West'. The facilities are open to all serving and veteran wounded, injured and sick personnel and their loved ones. The purpose built facility includes a state-of-the-art Gym with equipment that has been adapted for injured / disabled users, A 25m swimming pool, a hydrotherapy pool and a cafe. Visitors to the centre can take part in courses and activities to help them on the road to recovery.
Whilst on our visit - we was invited to try out some wheelchair rugby! The H4H Wheelchair rugby team has just received their new chairs from Roma Sport and were keen to show us how fun the sport is for all.
The Recovery centre and the wheelchair rugby team are always looking for people to come and try the sport and looking for veterans and servicemen / women to visit the centre and seek advice. Contacting them couldn't be easier;
